loom loungeLoom Lounge was designed & built as a unique listening environment —— conceived as a space where different communities and perspectives could converge, exchange and contribute to a shared experience. The concept draws from the idea of a fabric loom: individual threads coming together to form a unified cultural fabric, positioning the venue as an open, evolving landing point for sound, people and atmosphere.
This direction informed a textile-led design language, where soft materials became both functional and architectural. An adaptive system of acoustic treatment and soft furnishing was developed using sourced deadstock textiles, patchworked into larger canvases that wrap, absorb and define the space. These interventions move beyond upholstery, becoming integral to how the environment performs and feels.
A secondary palette of warm-toned timber paired with reworked mid-century lighting elements introduces a sense of familiarity, grounding, and nostalgia, shifting the venue from a cultural hub into a cultural home.
